Unspoken Roles Chicken Scratch a Daughters Guide to Life presents lessons I learned from Two Barred Rock Hens named Henrietta and Margaret, during the worst pandemic of our lifetime 2020’s Covid-19. It started out as a way to become more self-sustaining, you know grow my own vegetables and the Chickens doubled as Eggs and Meat. However, the day I blurted out my first “Chicken Phrase” “Playing Chicken” from an observation in the yard, I realized, these old sayings were true! Not only did chickens “Play Chicken” they run like chickens with their head cut off, get madder than a wet hen and yes I observed a Mother Hen.
